PRP Press Release
Glendale Raptors 24-14 OMBAC
The Glendale Raptors clinched a spot in the inaugural PRP final with a hard-fought 24-14 victory over OMBAC on Saturday. Now they only need to pick up a few more points to ensure they finish with the best record in the league. OMBAC went into the match playing for their playoff lives and it showed early as both teams put pressure on one another only to have defense prevail. Each team scored a try in the first half but Zach Pangelinan’s conversion made the difference as OMBAC went into the half up 7-5.
The second half, however, belonged to Glendale. Brett Willis and Dustin Croy added to their season tallies with tries shortly after the break to push the Glendale lead to 17-7. OMBAC responded alock Derrick Broussard recovered a blocked clearing kick for the score. However, Preston Bryant scored for Glendale to put the game out of reach.

SFGG 64-28 Olympic Club
SFGG’s 64-28 win over Olympic Club has them now just a few points away from joining Glendale in the final. The can sew up that place if they beat Belmont Shore next week. As expected, the “Battle of the Bridge” between SFGG and O-Club was fierce. O-Club made their intentions known early with some very strong play at the breakdown. Hooker Andrew Cook was the recipient of that effort with a try only four minutes in. SFGG responded three minutes later when Neil Barrett scored in the corner. Dan Howten then scored for Olympic Club to give them a 14-5 advantage only 20 minutes in.
But soon after that things changed. The SFGG backline slowly imposed themselves and saw both Mile Pulu and Barrett score to give SFGG their first lead of the match at 17-14. In the second half it wasn’t nearly as close as SFGG ran in tries from Ricky Reynolds, Tom Rooke, Volney Rouse, Peter Moala, and Bruce Thomas to blow open the match. Colin Hawley and James Lik had tries for O-Club. As usual it was another strong effort from O-Club but an even more clinical match from SFGG.
Denver Barbarians 52-34 Santa Monica
The Denver Barbarians closed out their home schedule with a 52-34 win over Santa Monica. With the Barbarians offense back in full swing and the Santa Monica defense once again leaking points it led to a an eight try total for the Barbarians. Rob Moreno was the first to score eight minutes in before Iniki Fa’amausili increased the lead. Santa Monica then scored before Brendan Shea answered for the Barbarians. The Dolphins did give up and scored ten points in three minutes to make it 19-17.
When Ata Malifa scored just before half time it gave the Barbarians all the momentum they needed as they ran away with the match in the second half. Malifa (twice) and Fa’amausili would score again as would Atwon Baker. Santa Monica scored to make it 45-24 but by then it was too late. The Dolphins scored two late tries.
