The South Panthers couldn't repeat as NACRA champions but that wasn't due to the play of star back Matt Hughston. The Panthers shot out to an early lead thanks to two tries from Hughston and a conversion. The South is always a region that depends on a few key players to set up in big moments and that is what Hughston did for the most part against Guyana. It wasn't a perfect effort but the South only reached the final with the efforts from players like Hughston and for that he gets the Rugby Classifieds Player of the Week award.
