The American contingent at Saracens is about to gain another member as Thretton Palamo is off to join the club. It's unclear at this point if his deal is for a whole year or is first the first few months of the season. We'll bring clarity on that when we have it. Palamo, who recently earned his first start in a number of years for the Eagles after he started against Canada a few weeks ago, will join Chris Wyles, Hayden Smith, and Titi Lamositele at the club. Palamo leaves on Wednesday.
Palamo has been rumored to be joining Saracens for months after he made his return to rugby from American football. He had a short spell with the Eagles 7s team before going into 15s camp. He also played with Tiger Rugby at the Melrose 7s. He is of course the youngest ever player to feature in a World Cup back in 2007 against South Africa (the match made famous by this try) and was the youngest Eagle ever until Lamositele broke that record. By moving to Saracens Palamo will be in a strong environment to push for a place on next year's World Cup team.
