With their tour of the UK complete Women Eagles head coach Pete Steinberg has named his 26 woman squad for next month's World Cup. The roster is dotted with veterans like Jamie Burke, Jillion Potter, and Shaina Turley. There are also several younger players on the team like Meya Bizer, Hope Rosters, and Bui Baravilala. The Women's 7s team has a strong presence on the team as well. Players like Sadie Anderson, Emilie Bydwell, Lauren Daly, Nathalie Marchino, Vanesha McGee, and Deven Owsiany have plenty of experience against international opposition.
The team has had a pair of warm-up matches against Canada as well as matches against Wales and England to narrow down the squad. Additionally, Steinberg has spent the last year holding camps and evaluating players. Although the Eagles finished 1-3 in matches all but one of them were very close, including matches against Canada and England.

In addition to the 26 women on the roster four players have been named reserves and eight have been named as non-traveling reserves. The U.S. opens play on August 1st against Ireland that match will likely decide if the U.S. advance far in the tournament. They then play Kazakhstan on August 5th and New Zealand on August 9th before the knock-out rounds.
