Boys

The U.S. Boys dug themselves an early hole when they lost to Kenya 22-12 on day one. Edgar Khafumi had two tries for Kenya as they looked the better side. Jojo Tikoisuva and Hanco Germishuys had tries for the United States. Game two wasn't good either as Fiji dominated in a 29-10 win. This time Junior Helu and Tyler Sousley were the try scorers.

Things didn't get much better on day two as the team lost to Japan 22-10 and France 22-17. Tikoisuva and Sione Masoe would score against Japan. Against France, Tikoisuva added another try along with Malcolm May and Aaron Matthews. Because the U.S. only has four points on no wins they have been eliminated from medal contention.

Girls

The Girls didn't get off to the greatest of starts with a 12-12 draw with Spain. Michel Navarro and Richelle Stephens scored tries in the match. That was followed up with a close 19-14 loss to Canada. The Canadians jumped out to an early lead before the U.S. came back with tries from Tess Feury and Stephens. However, Canada were able to score the final try.  On day two the U.S. fell to Australia 38-0 and China 29-7. The team trails Spain by two points with one match remaining and are technically still alive for the semi-finals. They play last place Tunisia next.
