After storming through pool play on day one the Women Eagles, playing as the Serevi Selects, picked up where they left off on day two on their way to a runner-up finish at the Coral Coast 7s. The team made it all the way to the final where they ran up against the Aussie Pearls, the national team of Australia. Lauren Doyle scored first for the Eagles with Amelia Villines converting but then three tries from Australia sealed the match.

Post pool play began with a 38-14 win over Papua New Guinea in the Cup quarterfinals. Villines and Vix Folayan would have two tries a piece while Doyle and Melissa Fowler each had tries. That set up a match against Fijiana in the semi-finals. It their first real test of the tournament and the Women Eagles came away with a 12-0 result with tries from Folayan and Fowler and a match against the Pearls in the final.

The tournament was a great warm-up for the team who now head to Dubai for the start of the Women's IRB Sevens Series. The Eagles didn't have the season they would have liked last season but with a few reinforcements this year and a year of seasoning under their belts they expect to compete for a top four finish and Olympic qualification.

Deven Owsiany is now living and playing in Australia. She was at the tournament with Sydney Fiji Ranadi who finished winless in pool play but picked up the Shield with a 24-12 win over the Lady Babas. Tiara Littleton from Dallas was also at the tournament playing with Australian side Redlands. They finished runners-up in the Plate. Littleton had a try in the match.

On the men's side of things the Serevi Selects, which featured players from Fiji and some with ties to the U.S. like Ismeli Daveta and Emosi Vucago, finished pool play with a 29-7 win over Tovloea. That was enough to see them finish second in Pool E and a spot in the quarterfinals. Unfortunately it didn't work out the way they wanted losing to powerhouse Yamacia 22-14. The saw them matched up with the Tokatoka Westfield Dragons in the Plate semi-final where they lost 26-10 putting them out of the tournament.
