Tyler Spitz may not be a name familiar to most Americans but to those that have followed the Eagles 7s team over the past few seasons his name will be recognizable after spending a few training camps with the team, most recently in January 2013. He never suited up for the Eagles and has fallen off the radar recently. Raised in Australia to a American dad Spitz has spent the bulk of career playing for Eastwood in the Shute Shield. With his U.S. options seemingly spent the 24 year old suited up for Hong Kong recently as they faced Russia. Spitz qualifies for Hong Kong after being born in the territory.
Spitz's decision is a good time to remind our readers that we will continue to follow all U.S.-eligible players until they lose that eligibility. Now that Spitz is no longer U.S.-eligible we'll no longer be following him.
