It's not unusual for players playing on their first World Series Sevens event to have a strong tournament--Perry Baker in the Gold Coast is the latest proof of that--but usually those players have been in or around the team for awhile and come from established programs. Martin Iosefo has plenty of time playing for Tiger Rugby, the Chicago Lions, and the All-Americans, but the fact that he plays out of sight in Montana makes his play at the Dubai 7s that much more noticeable. Even though the Eagles had a down week they seemed to have unearthed a gem in Iosefo. He's a very powerful runner, makes good decisions, and pushed the team when they were down. All from a player on debut was enough to make him the Rugby Marketplace Player of the Week. He's still young and has a lot to learn about international 7s but there are plenty of things to be positive about regarding his future.
