Christian Ostberg, who was our Co-Young Overseas Player of the Year, is on the move. He has left his Italian Serie B (A) club Alghero for an opportunity in England with Chinnor RFC in National League 2 South. Chinnor was in need of immediate second row cover and it was opportunity Ostberg felt he couldn't pass up. Ostberg had been a regular for Alghero often going the full 80 minutes for the club and captaining them from time to time.
The move to England will allow Ostberg to get more playing time as the English lower leagues play more than the Italian leagues and it will be at a high standard. That will be crucial for Ostberg if he hopes to impress the several Pro D2 teams that are reportedly interested in him. Of the move Ostberg to TIAR "Italy was amazing and if it wasn't for Alghero allowing me to get my foot in the door none of this would be possible. I'm very excited for what my future holds because I didn't think any of this could have been possible."
