1. BYU (Last Week: 1, bye): The Cougars had the weekend off to prepare for their big rivalry match with Utah in St. George. The Cougars will be the heavy favorites to take the Wasatch Cup but they should be careful with a Utah team that is improving every week. This will also be the first opportunity for younger players on the Cougars to step up into bigger roles. Up next: Utah

2. St. Mary's (LW: 2, beat Arizona State 59-15): The Gaels looked impressive once again as they dismantled a solid Arizona State side. It wasn't as impressive as the Utah win but it's just semantics when you are talking winning by forty or sixty. At this point Vili Helu is looking like the pick up on the season. A big test is up next in Olympic Club albeit the injury bugs could change things. Up next: Olympic Club

3. Cal (LW: 4, won the Dennis Storer Classic): The Bears tore through the Storer Classic over the weekend racking up wins over UC-Davis, UC-Santa Barbara, and UC-Santa Cruz on day one and then beating UCLA in the final. Jake Anderson had a fantastic weekend while Anthony Salaber and Alec Gletzer were also good. Up next: Cal Poly

4. Life (LW: 3, bye): It's probably tough on Life to drop them a spot in our rankings but Cal were impressive at the Storer Classic. Life will start their schedule at the end of the month. Up next: South Carolina (January 31st)

5. Central Washington (LW: 5, bye): The Wildcats are still in pre-season and although they are a young team overall they enter another year with their core intact. That could be scary for opposing teams and whoever they face in the Varsity Cup. Up next: Boise State (January 31st)

6. Arkansas State (LW: 6, bye): The Red Wolves are still in pre-season mode at the moment. The biggest question for the team this year is who is going to step up and be the star? Up next: Glendale (February 7th)

7. Lindenwood (LW: 7, bye): The Lions could be the surprise team of the Spring as their core has another year together. I think we can all agree that we need the Mid-South to start soon. Up next: New Orleans (February 7th)

8. Utah (LW: 8, won the Pac North Tournament): The Utes were very impressive at the Pac North Tournament with wins over Washington, Oregon, Washington State, and Oregon State. They looked to be an improved team but a lot will depend on how they do against BYU this week. Up next: BYU

9. UCLA (LW: 9, runner-up at Storer Classic): The Bruins had a great Storer Classic until they ran into an impressive Cal team in the final. The Bruins have the potential to go far this season but they are going to need to start being more competitive against teams like Cal. Up next: Oregon State (January 31st)

10. Arizona State (LW: NR, lost to St. Mary's 59-15): Arizona State may have been blown away by St. Mary's but they have the bones of a very good side. Teams in the PAC Conference will have to be on guard. Up next: San Diego State (January 31st)
