Eagles Abroad: Weekend Preview

It doesn't get much bigger than this for Americans overseas as several players and their teams fight for spots in the European Champions Cup and Challenge Cup quarterfinals. Both Chris Wyles and Samu Manoa will get starts while Eric Fry will come off the bench. Blaine Scully and Brett Thompson are still injured. Scott LaValla, like he has for most of Stade Francais's European campaign, is being rested.  Hanno Dirksen is not on our list as we were able to confirm this week that he no longer has U.S. eligibility. Nick Civetta is on the bench for Viadana as they look to qualify for next year's Challenge Cup. Lastly, Todd Clever will play what is potentially his last match in Japan this weekend. He is on the bench for the NTT Shining Arcs in their playoff match.

Neither Blaine Scully nor Greg Peterson are in the line-up for Leicester as they play Callum Black, Dave Ryan, and Munster on Saturday. Black will start for Ulster while Ryan is not in the line-up.

Samu Manoa will start while Cam Dolan is not in the line-up for Northampton as they play Racing Metro on Saturday.

Tom Bliss is not in the line-up for Wasps as they play Leinster on Saturday. 

Chris Wyles will start for Saracens while none of Thretton Palamo, Hayden Smith, or Titi Lamositele (injured) are in the line-up as they play Clermont on Sunday.

Neither James Hilterbrand nor Brett Thompson are in the line-up for Edinburgh as they play Bordeaux today. Thompson is still injured.

Eric Fry is on the bench for Newcastle as they play Bucuresti on Saturday.

Tai Tuisamoa and London Scottish have the weekend off. 

Will Magie and Old Albanians play Loughborough on Saturday. 

Ronnie McLean and Ealing play Richmond on Saturday.

Robbie Shaw and Esher play Darlington Mowden Park on Saturday.
