European Champions Cup

Racing Metro, Toulon, Clermont, Leinster, Bath, Northampton, Wasps, and Saracens have all booked a place in the Champions Cup quarterfinals. Heading into the weekend only Toulon had sealed their place making for an exciting weekend. It began on Saturday as Racing Metro and Northampton squared off to see who would win Pool 5. In the end it wasn't much of a contest as Racing Metro won 32-8 to claim the top seed overall in the quarterfinals. Northampton weren't guaranteed a spot in the quarterfinals until Toulouse fell to Montpellier 27-26. Bath were also beneficiaries of Toulouse's defeat. They beat Glasgow 20-15 to not only eliminate the Warriors but also to take the top spot in the pool.

In Pool 1 both Clermont and Saracens were essentially guaranteed a place in the quarterfinals when their clash began on Sunday. All Saracens had to do was avoid losing by 35 points. That's exactly what they did as tries from Nick Abendanon and Vincent Debaty secured a 18-6 win for Clermont. In Pool 3 Toulon already had things sealed and they went out in style from pool play with a 26-3 win over Scarlets. Ulster beat Leicester 26-7 in the other pool match.
