The first day of the Hong Kong 10s is in the books and it was a busy one for Americans. Four Americans, including Eagles Todd Clever and Cam Dolan, are playing in the tournament spread out over three teams. Of those players Dolan had the biggest impact. He scored three times, once in each match as his Samurai International team went 3-0. Dolan scored the first try of Samurai's first match, a 31-0 win over Natixis and the first try of their 12-0 win over Stockholm. He also scored as Samurai beat the Scottish Exiles 19-5.

Todd Clever also found himself on the scoresheet yesterday while playing for the Penguins. He scored twice as the Penguins beat Devil's Advocate Silver Dragons 53-0. The Penguins then knocked off Gavekal 24-0 before surprisingly losing to the French Development team 7-0.

The other Americans at the tournament are Seattle Saracens pair Eric Deuchle and Miles Craigwell who are playing for the Irish Vikings. Deuchle scored the only try of the match as the Vikings beat the FS Exiles in their first match. They were then pummeled by Tana Umaga's Asia Pacific Dragons 43-0 before beating the East Africans 19-12.

All three American teams made the quarterfinals. Todd Clever and Cam Dolan will face each other as the Penguins and Samurai meet. The Vikings will play YCAC, a team that gave up only five points all day on day one.

Once again the tournament will be streamed beginning late this evening.
