When Zack Test went down screaming with an injury last weekend against Australia at the Glasgow 7s, American fans all cringed. Not only did they sympathize with Test but they also wondered whether Test will be out for the long term. It doesn't look like that will be the case and he should be ready for the NACRA 7s but it's unclear whether he'll be able to go this weekend in London. According to head coach Mike Friday the Eagles have brought in Thretton Palamo to train with them in case Test can't go.
The move isn't a huge surprise. Palamo has recent experience (last year) with the Eagles 7s team and hasn't been used much by Saracens outside the 'A' League and LV= Cup duty and with the season winding down this is a perfect opportunity to potentially get him game time. It's also a good time for Friday and the Eagles coaching staff to see if Palamo might be a fit to push for a spot on the Olympic qualifying team.
Also, according to Friday, "we have decided to leave Chris Wyles to concentrate on helping Saracens get into to the playoffs." That's definitely the right choice but it's still interesting that he was in consideration.
