The club championships were characterized by a slew of outstanding individual performances. However, no player put in quite the effort that Wisconsin's Justin Wypych put in scoring four tries and leading her team to a 38-23 win over the Sacramento Amazons for the DII title. The Amazons played strong rugby but the speed and footwork of Wypych was simply too much to handle.
The Amazons were the first to score when they converted a penalty just a few minutes in. That advantage would remain for the first ten minutes as both teams felt each other out. After those ten minutes Wisconsin started to take more control and nearly had the opening try when Wypych broke out. She was caught but just a few minutes later she showed great pace to burst around the outside and go in for the try. She then added her second and Wisconsin led 12-3 with 20 minutes players.

After the try the Amazons settled down and were able to put pressure on Wisconsin. They looked to have their first try but it was held up. Off the ensuing scrum they used their forwards to push the ball near the line when Denita Arens scored her first try of the match.
Still, the Amazons had no answer for Wypych and another mazy run put Wisconsin up 19-8. Arens would score her second for Sacramento just before halftime after she threw several dummies pushing the score to 19-13.
It took awhile for things to get going in the second half but when they did it went Sacramento's way. They had another try held up but another push saw Beth Howson cross over and Sacramento were within one at 19-18.
That would end up being as close as they would get. Just a few minutes later Kris Peterson shrugged off a tackle and went in for the try. Wypych then scored her fourth of the day to make it 31-18. Peterson would add a second try off a quick tap and Wisconsin led 38-18.
Sacramento would get a late try from Howson and one from Rachel Gonzales to make the score closer.
