The squads for the ITM Cup are slowing coming ahead and there are a few players eligible to play for the U.S. that will be playing in the competition. The most notable name is former Kutztown and Palmer player Mike Lawrenson who is playing for Tana Umaga and the Counties Manukau Steelers. We spoke with Lawrenson back in April about the move. Although South African-born Lawrenson is eligible to play for the U.S. through residency and from what we understand his stint in New Zealand will not impact that eligibility. He's looked at as a long-term prospect at lock after what is expected to be a few retirements on the Eagles after the World Cup.

Also on the Steelers is winger Toni Pulu. He's eligible to play for the U.S. but would have to take advantage of the new World Rugby rules that allow a player to switch via the Sevens Series. He previously represented Niue on the Series. He was in the Chiefs larger training squad but didn't play in a match. Also, former SFGG man Tevita Koloamatangi is playing for Tasman. The ITM Cup season begins next month.
