Was it ever going to be anything else but the U.S.A. vs. Ireland for our Game of the Week? Simply put, this is the biggest rugby match of the year for Americans. Sure, it doesn't count in the standings toward World Cup Qualifying or even the Pacific Nations Cup, but it is the only opportunity all year the team will have to play at Tier I nation. That's a huge test for a Tier II nation. Even though Ireland come into the match with a bit of a weakened squad due to injuries and Lions call-ups they are still expected to win the match. Getting a result would be huge for the U.S. and a barometer of where they are as a program. Expect the heat to play a factor in the match but both teams should be pumped and ready with something to prove to their respective nations. If you aren't one of the lucky people in the stands on Saturday, make sure you tune in on television.
