Bullies RFC are the latest traveling social 7's team to pop up in the United States. We caught up with executive board member Keenon Luis to get a few more details on the club.
This Is American Rugby: Who are behind the Bullies? Where are you based?
Keenon Luis: We have three guys running the club's day to day operations myself, Mike Heath, and Patrick Larrimer. The nucleus of the club is based in Denver but we are recruiting outside the state of Colorado. We have been talking to people in Ohio, Iowa and one guy from Minnesota.

TIAR: How was the idea for the team born?
KL: We participated in the Denver 7's tournament for the Denver Highlanders. The Highlanders are mainly a 15's club and the 7's side kind of falls by the way side. So, after the tournament we took a vote to see if the guys wanted to form a new club and continue playing together. We wanted the club to have structure and make the players feel they are part of a real club.
TIAR: Have you had any contact with players outside of the Highlanders?
KL: Most of the players are personal friends, we would love to have anyone interested in playing 7's come and join the club.
TIAR: What plans do you have for the future?
KL: We have two tournaments on the docket has of right now, New York 7's and Las Vegas 7's. We plan on entering the social divisions of both tournaments.
TIAR: What are the next steps for the team?
KL: Sponsors! Sponsors! Sponsors! We have to get funding. Currently we are planning to make a T-shirt soon to generate a little revenue so we can get kits, balls, etc.
