Starting Lineups
-Great pressure from the Eagles early. Leads to a Canada penalty. Their going for the lineout.
-Canada penalized again. Canada already given a warning. Unfortunate spill for the Eagles near the line. Canada clear but it's not far.
-U.S. held up in the try zone. Good spell from the U.S. but they need to convert. Seven minutes in.
-Near try from Chris Biller! Biller did a great job to carry Ciaran Hearn over the tryline but Hearn got his arm under the ball.
-Shaw penalized for not feeding the ball straight. Canada will clear.
-Great run by Luke Hume but a poor pass at the very end halts the opportunity.
-Taku Ngwenya with the try! No doubt about this one. Great steal by Blaine Scully to start the sequence and then a few series later Hume made a good run leading to the opening out wide. That's exactly what the U.S. need from their wings. Wyles missed the conversion. 5-0 to the U.S. with 15 minutes gone.
-Andrew Suniula penalized. Pritchard will attempt from halfway. Well struck kick. Canada 3-5 USA with 20 minutes gone.
-Pritchard scores a try for Canada. Poor tackling hurts the U.S. Try came off a good lineout and run by Hearn. The conversion is no good. Canada 8-5 USA with 24 minutes gone.
-You have a feeling the two held up tries in the first 10 minutes sealed the fate of the Eagles. Canada picking it up on offense now. They are finding success out wide.
-Van der Merwe with a great run for Canada but Mack can't handle the pass. Canada have had the better of the action the last few minutes. 33 minutes gone.
-U.S. penalized in the scrum. Pritchard will get a great opportunity from 35 meters out. The kick is off the post. Weird to see Pritchard miss from that distance and position. 2 minutes to half.
-Canada pinged for offside. Wyles will take the kick. The kick is up and good. 8-8 at halftime.
-Halftime. Much better than Charleston for the Eagles but still not doing enough to stop Canada. Credit to Canada.
-Second half is underway!
-Canada penalized but Wyles can't hit the kick. Should have hit it from there. Story of the summer, missed chances.
-Eric Fry coming off and Titi Lamositele coming on. Canada pretty content to wind down the clock.
-Mike Petri and Cam Doland coming on for Shaw and Dahl.
-Good break for Canada and a few series later they are in for the try. Marshall with the try. They'll look at it. Very good movement from Canada there. They have been the far better side the last two weeks. That should seal it. Pritchard's conversion is no good. Canada 13-8 USA, 60 minutes gone.
-Folau Niua on for Suniula. Roland Suniula on as well.
-The Eagles push near the try line but they turn over the ball yet again. Too many errors.
-Canada penalized again. Wyles is good with the kick. USA 11-13 Canada with 15 minutes left.
-Apparently Nanyak Dala has been sent to the bin.
-Zach Fenoglio has come on for Biller.
-The series is gone but a match win would be a nice positive for the Eagles.
-Strong run of play for the U.S. but it ends in an unnecessary turnover once again. Less than five minutes left.
-Canada penalized at the breakdown. Wyles will kick for the lead. The kick is not good at all. That pretty much epitomizes the summer. Less than a minute to go.
And that's the whistle. Canada 13-11 USA. Canada into the RWC while U.S. will play Uruguay next spring.
-Better than last week but much of that was due to Canada taking their foot off the gas. Questions to be answered for the Eagles.
