Hooligan's Table: The Rugby Player's Cookbook by David Martin as our latest book club selection. Some of you may have come across Hooligan's Table before. If you haven't, you should. Right or wrong rugby players are associated with being massive eaters, but as Hooligan's Table shows, that doesn't mean they are throwing garbage into their mouths. Rugby players can have sophisticated palates as well. The book has the standard pub recipes but it also includes recipes for finer foods. There is also the oddity in the book, such as Kangaroo Filet Mignon.
Even if you aren't a cook Hooligan's Table is still an great read for any rugby fan. Martin not only shares recipes that rugby players love, but he also takes the time to explain the game and share some of his favorite memories playing for several teams in New York and Florida. With the summer season in full swing and people getting together in the park for some food and rugby we thought it would be a perfect time to include the book in our book club.
