Former Arizona State Sun Devil Tim Buchanan is set to make his Super Rugby debut this weekend as he is in the line-up for the Reds as they play the Force. Buchanan spent the 2009-10 season with Arizona State where he mixed rugby and studying. An Australian native, Buchanan has been playing lock for the University of Queensland in the Queensland Premiership. He is a lock. With the Reds struggling in the standing and with injuries they are in need of players. Buchanan has been a part of the wider Reds set for the last year.
For those curious, he is not U.S.-eligible. However, it's still cool to see a player come over the U.S., play for a college rugby program, and then return to their own country and succeed. It says a lot about the Arizona State program that they were able to help him along.
