Both Santa Monica and Belmont Shore inched one step closer to the top two spots in SoCal after both made the finals of the Sunsplash 7s. Belmont Shore were the winners on the weekend with a large win over Santa Monica's 2nd side in the final (they beat Santa Monica's 1st team in the semi-finals). The two teams now sit firmly at the top of the standings with just one round to go. The Old Aztecs, which finished third are now the closest team to them but still a distance behind.

Pacific Northwest

Seattle Saracens continue to play and win in British Columbia. Both their men's and women's sides won the Highland 7s hosted by Simon Frasier University in Vancouver.

Northeast

Old Blue have all but clinched a spot from the Northeast barring a major meltdown after the reached the final of the Princeton 7s. However, standing in their way of the win was a very strong New England Prime side. New England showed better skill in a 26-19 win. Prime also beat Old Blue in pool play. New England now in third place in the series only four points behind NYAC, who lost to Old Blue in the semi-finals 26-17. NYAC were led by the likes of Al McFarland, Nate Brakeley, Justin Hundley, Chris Chapman, and Troy Hall and have done well after an early stumble. Several teams from the region, like other areas of the country, were missing players due to Eagles 7s camp. The final stop of the series is next week in New Haven with three teams--NYAC, New England, and the Connecticut Bulldogs--fighting for one spot.

South

New Orleans and Atlanta Old White have claimed the two berths out of the South. New Orleans won the tournament, which they also hosted, with a win over Old White in the final. To get to that point New Orleans beat the Florida Burn (formerly Daytona) and Orlando in pool play. Atlanta beat Charlotte and Birmingham. Charlotte and Florida finished second place in the pools respectively to qualify for the semi-finals. Atlanta beat Florida 19-12 in a close semi-final while New Orleans beat Charlotte.

Midwest

By showing up at the Rock Hard 7s in Grand Rapids, Michigan over the weekend the Chicago Lions and 1823 would earn the two qualifying spots from the Midwest. Not only did that happen but both teams once again made it to the final. Both teams have made it to the final of every stop the season except for the Firehouse 7s that was ended early due to storms. The Lions took their third final with a 24-10 win over 1823.

MAC

The MAC had the weekend off. The finals are this weekend but Schuylkill River and the Maryland Exiles have already claimed the two spots from the region.

West

The West had the weekend off. Kansas City, Glendale, and Denver are all tied heading into the Omaha 7s this weekend. The two teams that make it to the final will earn the two berths to Seattle.

Red River

The Austin Blacks have qualified out of the Red River Conference. The Red River Conference may or may not play its final qualifier.
