In a bid to get more playing time Thretton Palamo has been sent on loan from Saracens to London Welsh for the 2015-16 season. He will join up with the team just after the World Cup. Since signing with Saracens last year Palamo broke his foot early in training but healed in time to play for the U.S. in the final fixtures of the November test series. He then went on to mainly feature for Saracens in the reserve division. He did make the bench for the LV= Cup for the Sarries late in the competition.

The move will allow Palamo to get plenty of week in and week out playing time that he likely wouldn't have had with Saracens. It also means that when he returns to Saracens he will be in a better position to break into the line-up.

In a press release, London Welsh Director of Rugby Steve Lewis said: "Thretton is an exciting talent and we are grateful to Saracens for releasing him to us. He is 6ft 3in and 116kg with pace and skill and we look forward to him joining up with us after his World Cup commitments. I first saw him play at the IRB 7s in San Diego a few years ago and his talent was pretty obvious, and when he became available I had no hesitation in pursuing the opportunity. We have the players to bring out the best in him."

Palamo is expected to be a big part of the Eagles World Cup squad. After making the switch back to rugby from American football Palamo has earned a spot on the Eagles and is expected to be in contention for a starting spot.
