Wallace, Harriman Getting Time In Canada

With only a month left before the Eagles take on Uruguay in World Cup qualifying members of the Eagles and those wanting to be a part of that series are spreading around the globe in search of playing time. Some players have had opportunities overseas—Tai Tuisamoa, Toby L'Estrange, and Folau Niua—while others are playing in the Pacific Rugby Premiership—Adam Siddall. Another place players are seeking time is Canada. Nick Wallace and Graham Harriman suited up with BC Premier League powerhouse James Bay this last weekend. Wallace was named the BC Rugby News MVP (check out their site for all things Canadian) for the weekend.

It's not the first time Americans have played in the BC leagues. Shawn Pittman suited up for the Bayside Sharks before he made his move overseas and Seattle-OPSB participates in the BC leagues. Wallace has Northwest ties so it's not that surprising he would play in Canada. He had been rumored to be making a move overseas to an English club soon. The move for Harriman makes a lot of sense as well. Although he doesn't live in the Northwest his home area of Minnesota is snowed in at the moment and not playing rugby. He has a lot of work to do if he wants to make the Eagles roster for the World Cup qualifiers so getting time makes sense. Even if neither stick with James Bay for the rest of the season they didn't hurt themselves by playing in a high-level match.
